Heartland Film Society is a community group that until now has shown most of its films in the Locus Centre in Aberfeldy on the first Thursday and Friday of the month.
We are pleased to announce that as usual we will have a new season of monthly film evening screenings starting again in Septermber, and all to be shown at the new Birks Cinema - details to follow soon. Meanwhile, we are delighted to also have an extra film screening to launch our new 2013-14 subscription season. This will be a double bill on the afternoon of Sunday 23 June 2013, again at the new Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy. Full details of timings will be provided shortly This special double-bill is to showcase the famous Japanese animation specialists Studio Ghibli - and that afternoon we will be screening two of the most acclaimed animation films from that studio - Grave of the Fireflies and My neighbour Totoro. Full details to follow shortly. As the Birks Cinema has become our new home for regular HFS screenings we are pleased to announce that all paid-up Heartland Film Society Members for the 2013-14 season - priced at only £10 for the year - will qualify for tickets to each of the HFS screenings at the Birks Cinema at the specially reduced price of £4.95. Indeed this will be the price for 23 June - instead of the standard price of £8.50 for that particular double-bill ... so it is well worth joining or re-joining HFS as soon as possible to qualify for the discounted price for this and other HFS screenings, when purchasing your ticket from the Birks Cinema box office, in person or on-line. In due course we anticipate that membership of the Heartland Film Society will be available directly through the Birks Cinema but for now (until those systems are set up) membership applications for the 2013-14 HFS season should be made in writing using the membership form (providing home address, telephone number and e-mail address if possible) accompanied by a cheque for £10 per person (payable to Heartland Film Society) and sent to: The Membership Secretary, Heartland Film Society, The Locus Centre, The Square, Aberfeldy, PH15 2DD Anyone applying to join HFS for the 2013-14 season should also apply separately directly to the Birks Cinema for their (free) loyalty card. This will in due course be encrypted by the cinema management to indicate that you are also a HFS member and so qualify for discounts for HFS screenings - as we are providing the cinema management with an up to date list of all paid up HFS members for the 2013-14 season.
