Young Indies Short Film Competition and Workshops 2016
In a new event based on the popular Palme-Dewar competition, Heartland Film Society invites young people to create and submit their own short film. The six best entries will be shown in the Birks Cinema during the November Film Festival and a prize awarded to the winner.
Who can enter? The competition is open to any individual or group based in Highland Perthshire and aged from 6 to 17 years old. What kind of film? There's no restriction on subject or style, so let your imagination run wild. Entries, however, must be no more than 10 minutes long. Important dates Entries must be registered by Friday 30 September and films submitted by Friday 28 October 2016. A fee of £5.00 is payable on registration. |
Free workshops for young filmmakers
We’re offering two exciting free workshops to set you on your way. Each workshop offers aspiring young filmmakers the chance to work with a professional filmmaker for a full day. You’ll learn about the whole process of producing a film - from creating story and characters, camera shots and storyboard, through to filming and editing. And at the end of the day you can enter your very own cinematic masterpiece in the Young Indies Film Competition.
